Stress Less, Glow More: How to Care for Your Skin Amidst Life’s Chaos
Between the demands of modern life and the everyday environmental factors that strain our skin, finding the time to care for our complexion can seem impossible. But just as stress affects our overall health, it also takes a toll on our skin, impacting its elasticity, barrier function, and even causing breakouts.
Our recent workshop, Stress Less, Glow More, was all about educating on the importance of skincare as part of self-care, particularly when stress levels are high. Here’s a glimpse into what we discussed:
Why Skincare Matters
Our skin is more than just a surface. It’s a complex organ, crucial for protection, temperature regulation, and immune defense. So, a daily skincare routine does more than enhance appearance—it supports overall wellness. Even a simple three-step routine—cleanse, moisturize, and SPF—can make a noticeable difference.
Stress and Skin Health
Chronic stress is one of the biggest threats to healthy skin. Stress hormones break down collagen and elastin, leading to premature aging, inflammation, and other skin issues. Add environmental stressors like pollution and dry climates, and it’s clear our skin could use some extra support.
Multitasking Skincare for Busy Schedules
For those short on time, multitasking products are ideal. Consider tinted moisturizers with SPF or hydrating overnight masks, which both nourish and repair while you rest. One of my favorite skincare products are sheet masks: they are a quick and effective way to treat various skin concerns while allowing you the freedom to take care of chores, bust out a few emails, or enjoy your favorite TV show!
DIY Skin Love
A few of our favorite DIY masks are easy to make at home. Here are the recipes so that you can give them a try yourself:
