Favorite SPF finds in CDMX

A common question I've been getting asked in the studio is, Should I change anything in my skincare routine now that it's summer?

And my response is No.

More often than not, I see people's skincare routines fall to the way-side as our schedules get more hectic with summer travel, childcare, and just general busy-ness.

So my recommendation for summer skincare is to stick to your regimen: keep up with your treatments, cleanse and exfoliate regularly, and don't skip the sun protection.

By the end of summer, your skin will thank you!

SPF Finds in CDMX

Speaking of sun protection, I wanted to share a list of some of my favorite SPF products that can be found throughout the city. These are products that I personally use on myself and in my skincare services for years.

Below are links to provide examples as they may or may not be available online vs. in-store - but I can confirm I've seen them sold here in CDMX:

What I use in the studio:

Elta MD UV Sheer SPF 50 (Available on Amazon MX)

What I use at home:

Dr. Jart Every Sun Day Mineral Sunscreen SPF 50

(Availability online is hit or miss at Sephora MX, but try in-store)

For those new to skincare:

Cerave AM Facial Moisturizing Lotion SPF 30

(Available at Sanborns, Liverpool, El Palacio de Hierro and most major farmacias)

For the advanced/skincare enthusiast:

Skinceuticals Advanced Brightening UV Defense SPF 50

(Available on Skinceuticals MX and select dermatologist offices)

A few SPF reminders:

• Dermatologists recommend at least a sun protection factor (SPF) of 30 or more - the higher, the better.

• Aim for a mineral-based sunscreen - it will list zinc oxide or titanium dioxide in its ingredients.

• SPF should be worn daily but be sure to remove it with a thorough cleanse each night before bed.

The best SPF product is the one you enjoy and use regularly.

If you can't find any of the products I recommend, then stick to what you have/are able to find and use it consistently!
